The best women's pyjamas for 2026: how to choose them and our favourites
You notice good pyjamas every night: in how the fabric breathes, how the cut falls and how they hold up wash after wash. In this guide we explain what to look for when choosing women's pyjamas in 2026, and share our favourites of the season, made in our own Barcelona workshop since 1988.
1. Fabric comes first
Natural fibres let your skin breathe and help regulate your temperature through the night. That's why we work with 100 % cotton and linen, and choose the fabric by season:
- Winter: brushed cotton flannel (viella), soft and warm without overheating.
- In-between seasons: poplin (smooth and cool, like a good shirt) and oxford, with a little more body.
- Summer: linen and bambula, a naturally crinkled cotton that needs no ironing.
We go into more detail in our fabric guide for every season.
2. A classic cut that doesn't constrict
The classic two-piece pyjamas are still the most comfortable: a button-up shirt with a proper collar and long trousers. To sleep well you need to be able to move, so slightly loose is better than snug.
3. The details that reveal quality
Mother-of-pearl buttons, contrast piping on the collar, pocket and cuffs, clean seams on the inside. They aren't decoration: they're what makes pyjamas look good and last for years.

Make them yours: embroidered initials
Any of our pyjamas can be embroidered with initials or a name in our workshop, for €10 and in four typefaces. If it's a gift, take a look at our Christmas gift guide, with the dates to order by.
How to care for them
Wash inside out at 30 °C, skip the tumble dryer and dry in the shade. Linen gets softer with every wash. More tips in caring for your pyjamas.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best fabric for women's pyjamas?
It depends on the season. In winter, brushed cotton flannel, which keeps you warm without overheating. In spring and autumn, poplin and oxford. In summer, linen and cotton gauze, the coolest of all. In every case, natural fibres are better than synthetics.
How much do good women's pyjamas cost?
Quality cotton pyjamas made in Spain cost between €100 and €150. At Vicky Bargalló, women's pyjamas range from €100 to €150, and embroidered initials cost €10 more.
Which size of pyjamas should I choose?
Our pyjamas have a relaxed fit. As a guide: S fits EU 36–38, M 38–40, L 40–42 and XL 42–44. If you are between sizes, choose the larger one.
Where are Vicky Bargalló pyjamas made?
In our own workshop in Barcelona, where we have made pyjamas, nightdresses and robes since 1988.
